During the marketing trainings and conferences we give, one question always comes up. What characteristics does our content need to make it work? There is no simple or definitive answer because each brand and niche is different, however there are general guidelines to follow. In fact, I always tell my collaborators that the essential commandment is: Think user! Do not communicate what you think the boss will like, you, your friends; think about the user of your brand, put yourself in their shoes, General Manager Email Lists I understand their problems, their expectations, their doubts, their fears; that will help you define your theme. Do you remember Tron ? If you think about publishing truly innovative content, believe me you have it difficult. Many, including myself, advise writing about what has not been written but IT IS TERRIBLY DIFFICULT because every day millions of pages are added to Google and surely some of them speak of what you want to deal with, however, that is where you have to find the point of difference: focus. If you want to talk about content marketing , forget it. If you want to do it about social media marketing , don’t even waste your time. If you plan to explain what digital marketing is, you better dedicate yourself to something else. I know, I know … then you will ask me what to do … the answer is: If you are going to write about content marketing in general, you waste your time, there are millions of pages that have already done it, but what if you focus on your niche , and then you make a post like What does it mean to do content marketing for coffee shops? Aaaahhh! Then the perspective changes.
The same goes for any topic or turn. Don’t write for the general public; there is already so much content that that is dead. The opportunities are almost nil. Develop Content That Doesn’t Exist… A Children’s Dentist May Have The Best Children’s Teeth Care Blog; a cake business can have the best YouTube channel to bake in less than 15 minutes; and so on. focus will make a difference. On some occasion I met a lawyer who when I asked her what her specialty was, she told me that she defended men in divorce cases. Why men? – asked . The law even more protects women since it is the most common. The man usually leaves home or is even the one who goes with another woman … or so we think. For that very reason! Divorce laws usually protect women, but what happens when it turns out that the man is the one who has taken care of the marriage and she for whatever reason is the one who wants to separate from him and also obtain benefits since the law supports her. I was amazed… He had found his niche in a very clever way! The result?
Obviously he can’t keep up with the clientele. He who pretends to work for everyone ends up working for no one. Find your niche, because the same thing happens with content. Once you’ve found your topic and defined your focus, there are 7 questions your content will need to answer. Last Review The questions are very simple because they can be answered with a simple yes or no. The more Yes you collect, the more chance you have that your content will not only be successful with your target group, but that it will be shared on social media. How to be viral.
